SwingColumbus goes to Washington

and on the way, they're stopping at the Ohio Statehouse!

Team SwingColumbus was founded a couple years ago with the intent to kick butt in a team swing dance competition in Detroit (which they won by 1 point, thank you very much!).  Since then, they have also kicked some butt in Dayton and Indianapolis with routines featuring hammy plot lines and even a Soldja Boy ending.  Here are a few highlights:

Team SwingColumbus has competed regionally against teams from Indianapolis, Dayton, Cincinnati, Detroit, and numerous universities.  This year the Team has taken on a larger goal of competing against teams from all over the world at the International Lindy Hop Championships in Washington, D.C. on August 22, 2010.

Just before hopping in their cars to head straight for Washington, the team will give one last public performance of their competition routine at the Ohio Statehouse in downtown Columbus, Ohio.  This performance, presented by Ohio Dance, will be outside on the High Street side of the Statehouse.  Dublin Dance Centre will also perform.  There is no rain location, so in the event of rain it will be cancelled.  Let's hope that doesn't happen!
